It was cold when I stepped out of the hotel this morning at 5.30 am, I required more than the cardi I grabbed on the way out of the room. My haste was driven by a desire to enable at least two of our party with more than a sprinkling of sleep at this ungodly hour. So Amelia and I set off for an early morning adventure around the coastline of es Cana. Strange thing is Amelia had been making a high pitched whining noise for at least 10 minutes before our depArture yet in the chilled air and darkness she didn't make a sound. I was hoping to catch some nocturnal feeding lizards but unfortunately the rumble of the wheels on the pushchair sounded a warning to the lizards to escape before we could get more than 10 yards towards them.
Amelia and I watched the sun rise and it was beautiful. Thankyou Amelia, for your early anti social behaviour.
No tea huts, cafés or bars open in es Cana before 8am ... A deffinate business opportunity given the amount of people I encountered between the hours of 6 and 7!
As I arrived back at the room my earlier words, 'no we don't need a kettle in the room, we never drink in the room when we are abroad', were ringing in my ears.
It was a long long wait for breakfast. I decided to take my chances and join the Germans for the 'opening if the restaurant doors' stampede at 8.01 am.
At 7.59am I witnessed many a German look at their watch, look up to the ceiling, sigh and shake there head.
When it actually came to it I was too scared to join, I pondered muphasa's fate at the stampede of the wildebeests (lion king) and decided to wait until it was more calm.
We had heard last night that several Brits had been complaining about the food. One couple told us it had been atrocious. Although we have found nothing to complain about. Vikki joked about it and said 'I bet there is bacon and eggs on offer tomorrow morning just to shut the Brits up'.
The bacon was a nice change from cake for breakfast!
