16/3 No rest for the wicked
We decided on leaving straight away and a bus to El Calafete in the morning and back to I Kue Ken for 2 nights. They had the asado just before and just after our visit. No asado for us. We explored the small town, if i was to describe it i would say its a small snow village, full of the attitudes and cafes and bars that go with it.
17/3 Watching ice melt
We head to glacier Perito Marino, which is one of the only glaciers in the world that is not receding. The front of it is 5km long with a 60m high face that drops on average 2m of ice a day. All we did was stood or sat and watched ice melt, and somehow 6 hours was not enough. It was amazing watching and getting photos of office building size pieces of ice crashing into the lake. After being a geek and doing the math, a 1m cube is a tonne of ice and that would be something 1:60th of the height of the face falling.... And pieces the size of the face dropped.
That night we went out for dinner, to have some time together. I know, sometimes you just need time together.
