It was our final full day in New York City so we packed the cameras and the rain jackets making sure we didn't get another soaking before heading out with the intention of getting more pictures and seeing the financial district of Manhattan which was an area we hadn't really seen much of. We decided to stop at a super market around the corner and get some croissants and fresh fruit rather than spend hours on another wild goose chase looking for breakfast. After eating these, we took a left before the walkway onto Manhattan bridge and found our way down the side of the Brooklyn bridge looking at the financial district across the east river. This is a great place for photos which plenty were taken in the sweltering heat, although over Manhattan heading towards us was gloomy skies drowning out the clear blue we was currently enjoying so we headed onto Brooklyn bridge to get more photos and head into Manhattan. Halfway across the bridge and the rain started again getting heavier as we made our way across the bridge towards the financial area, this time prepared with our rain jackets keeping us dry. Although heavy, the rain weren't quite as intense as the night before although it was a bit cooler. Having already walked for a while since breakfast we was starting to get hungry at this point so when we came across cafe gusto which was very reasonably priced we stopped in for some eggs bacon a homemade chips with a strawberry and banana smoothie. Once we were replenished we headed out towards Wall Street and saw the New York stock exchange and the general whole financial region before heading up towards the piers at the end of Manhattan. We then saw the charging bull sculpture and headed around towards the east river before walking along the waterfront all the way down to 34th street then grabbing some pizza and heading towards Times Square for some photos there. By now it had stopped raining. When I picked up wifi again I messaged Jacob to see if he was about. In the meantime we headed up to the top of a building he had told us about as there is a way on to the roof for great pictures over Times Square but once at the top of the building we couldn't find the way to the roof so ended up leaving defeated. Once the wifi picked up it turned out Jacob was there with a friend so we waited for them to come down then met them and headed out with Jacob and MJ to get some photos around Manhattan bridge.
On the way to the bridge MJ asked us if we fancied a little detour to get some cool subway photos so we went down a passage he knew which gave us some immense views of the subway in areas you can't usually access!
After getting some pictures we decided it would be best to leave but being so late me and rich bid farewell to Jacob & MJ and headed in to get our heads down after a crazy night.
The next morning we got our stuff sorted and showered before heading down to 34th at between 11th & 12th avenue to catch our bus to Washington, D.C. grabbing a healthy 1st McDonald's of the trip on the way down due to lack of other choice in our last minute time frame!
