Yesterday was spent at the site, the weather cleared up we had glorious sun, warm in the Sun, freezing in the shade (after all it is March and not July). A short walk down to the beach and fun was had by all. Time flew past quickly and before we knew it the evening arrived.
The plan for today was a trip in to Bilbao but we awoke to the heaviest rain that we had seen a long time, the plan was put on hold as it would involve a 20 minute walk to the metro station in order to get into town. Today was therefore determined to be a rain day. Adrian did some reading and writing, Rebecca did some counting and we continued to repack the motorhome.
We have discovered that even on the worst of days, as long as there is daylight, the solar panel will continue to provide a trickle charge into the batteries. Technology has improved a lot since the early days of solar panels. As electricity is an optional cost in the campsites there will be times where this is useful, in order to provide use with lighting in the evening.
The wi-fi connection at the campsite was found to be working today and we did some extreme blogging whilst in the middle of a hailstorm. The cafe was closed so the wi-fi connection worked by sitting outside the door in an area of limited shelter. We pulled down out email, check the websites and decided that based on the weather forecasts for the region that tomorrow we would head south. Bilbao would have to wait for another trip. We weren't planning to go around the art museam with two young children, just have a look at the building and some of the town, possibly even the "cathedral" of Athletico Bilbao. The attraction is just not that strong, it will not be a missed experience on the trip.
