Did I get paid? Did I get paid? It was of course only ten past midnight in the UK so nothing had happened, but I wondered if my payroll department would mess up or not. Anyway me mar popped up on Skype so gave her a ring, I have no idea why she was still up. Sarah was asleep and waved at the screen from the safety of the bed. We checked out and bought breakfast and lunch from of course 'family-mart', we ate our cakes (breakfast) in the castle grounds and headed for the trains, we got there and got the local train to Osaka and then changed and went to Shin-Osaka before finally getting on a Shinkansen train (bullet train) back to Tokyo or Tokyo Tokyo (so good that they named it twice it would seem, they always say it twice on the announcements), we went back past a very snowy area about half a foot deep I would say before going past Mount Fuji, it looked as magnificent as it did before. We ate lunch on the train and sat for about two and a half hours, I really enjoyed the journey though listening to my ipod and looking through photographs. We changed at Tokyo and got on a local train to Akihabara again changing for the last destination to Asakusa, we got off and did we know where we were? Did we chuff. I didn't mind this too much, despite having the backpacks. Sarah on the other hand was not amused. We headed for the river as this was a good point of reference and our hotel was only just off of it, 'it's all part of the traveler experience', we were heading the right way up the river but Sarah was still not happy mind with the devil in her eyes moaning about the bag but god in her heart fluttering her eye lashes at me, 'fine I will carry it, and no I won't tell anyone' I wore her backpack the same way as I wore mine but on the front, I looked a right knob. But it cheered the old bird up. We then got to the road that the hotel was marked on the map, we walked to the end of the road. 'oh no I must have marked it wrong' we booked this hotel in Japan so didn't have the advantage of a printed map from there website, 'well how wrong could you have got it? Lets just walk round the streets surrounding the area' after no more than two minutes a full on diva strop was initiated, the devil was back in her eye and god was gone. 'Stop being a misery gut's, it's all part of the traveler experience' the reply was 'we will have to book into another hotel because we have no idea where the hell we are' 'that seems a little hasty we have only been lost for five minutes, lets walk along the street that runs parallel with the one you have marked it on and see whats down there' I had walked about two miles now with both bags and my back was getting a little sweaty. I looked up and saw the signs 'Smile Hotel straight ahead Sar' 'oh yes' and in a flash pretty little cheerful Sar was back and we were the bestest of buddies again. We checked in and went to the room, and the most bizarre room ever, the room was really nice but the window was a full on frosted glass window like you find in a bathroom. I said 'must be a cack view out there, we opened the window the ten centimeters it would open and looked, it was a brilliant view, confused we closed the window. I checked online banking to see if I had been paid, I had my full bloody wage I was only supposed to get my retainer of around one hundred and sixty pounds, oh well their problem. I put the money in a savings account so when they asked for it back I still had it (hopefully they never will) we then gathered our things and headed out. We re-visited a temple called Senso-Jo which we visited on one of our first days in Japan but it was bank holiday and was Juan Sergious Ramos. We walked the streets for around an hour taking in the sight and local shops until settling on curry for tea, we found a 'vendor' and I had a glorious usual curry and Sarah tried to be flashy (I wasn't brave enough) her courage didn't pay off and she regretted not having what she was used to. We then headed back to the hotel (found it this time) via 'Lawsons' a 'family-mart' type place to get coffee, milk and biscuits before settling down at the very respectable time of six thirty pm. We then watched Johnathan Creek again until about ten.
