We were getting up later and sleepier, we were ready for the day but had rumbling belly's so a brief stop at 'family-mart' and two cakes later and the sugar rush began. We had a walk round the castle which was right near our studio, a few photos were taken a couple of me looking gormo and one of me up a tree, which as I contemplated swinging of a branch I remembered what happened to my good buddy Nick... when we were about nineteen we did what any nineteen year old lads would do and went climbing trees (o.k we were a little bit to old for all that but it was fun), anyways Nick swung off a branch about three inches thick and with one swing it snapped clean off and he landed straight on his arse from about fifteen feet up this hurt him but the next bit hurt more the branch which he was still holding crashed down and hit him straight on the head. I was about five foot higher up the tree and nearly fell out laughing (in fact an awkward smile came on my face then, I am on a bullet train). Anyways we went then to the train station and got the train to Osakajokoen where we changed and got on the Loop Line to at Shin-Imamiya. This area was called Nipponbashi - Shinsekai. This area was apparently famous for a tower that looked like and was modeled on the Eiffel Tower, poppycock, they have never seen the Eiffel Tower it looked even more like a pylon than the actual pap real Eiffel Tower. We did however try Takoyaki Octopus Balls (not b******s, balls made of Octopus), the two Japs we met at he hostel said we would need about ten each, we ordered six between us, this cost three hundred Yen, it was a vendor and as I put in a five hundred Yen coin I got my two hundred Yen change and there was three hundred Yen in there... result! Then she passed us the balls and there were eight... double result! We found a spot and tried them, Sarah had one ball (like Hitler) and didn't like them so I had five, I couldn't manage seven so god knows how the locals eat ten each. We then walked up Den-Den which essentially was the high street, this was lined with electrical shops and was quite a vibrant street we then turned onto 'Nerd Street' (that was the literal translation) and it was just computer games and bizarre bars. We went to the top of a high rise shopping center where there was a garden (why not) this was a bit over rated so we headed to Namba-Yasaka shrine this was a good shrine and should I have a shrine. I either want a pub or one like this, it was a massive monster/ dragons head, I am talking thirty foot tall and mean looking made of solid stone. We then went to a shopping arcade called Shinsaibashi this was very long and lined with designers shops. We then passed two brothels with two suited rather gangster looking chaps outside, they looked mean. We decided to turn home as this place wasn't as nice as others we had visited, but apart from the octopus balls we hadn't had any lunch so stopped at a bakery and both picked two different things which both turned out to be potato sandwiches but very tasty. We got back quite quickly and watched the remaining parts of Bleak House at about six we scranned the rest of the Spaghetti Bolognaise and chilled out continuing to watch television on the laptop until about ten o'clock again Skyping people.
