Woke up at two thirty a.m. Still think jet lag maybe causing us issues. Lay awake until five thirty when Sarah announced she was getting up, with a grumble I agreed. Free coffee was available from six o'clock so went and got two strong coffee's. Had a good wash and was ready to leave the room at about eight o'clock. We headed for a shrine that was close to our hotel, we found it within a couple of minutes but as usual with these things it was closed. So we headed for our next stop - the Tokyo stock exchange, it was just a short walk from the shrine, we located it and went in. We had our pockets searched and bags scanned much like being at the airport, and then headed over to a very helpful Japanese lady at the desk 'visitor?' she said, 'yes please' we replied, she then showed us the tour in a booklet and we finished the conversation. Sarah then in her best and loudest Japanese accent said 'konishewa' this of course is likened to Del boy as konishewa means 'hello' and she meant thank you!!! I laughed. We then toured the stock exchange. There were Geisha's walking round and it was fairly interesting. We then headed for the fish market near the sea which was a fair old walk away but it was only nine thirty in the morning so we set off. Sarah led us straight to it, however there were no fish left. Disappointed we walked on. Next we walked to Ginza the up market shopping area of Tokyo and it did not let us down, there were skyscrapers as far as the eye could see, the streets gleaming, and fashionable shops in every direction ranging from Louis Vitton, Gucci, Georgio Armani and more. Of course we didn't have the money to even go in the shops but it was fun looking. Both in agreement we were hungry so headed in search of a 'vendor' - the new name we had given the restaurants described above. We walked for about forty minutes to find one, in the end we were brave enough to go into a normal cheap restaurant and point at what we wanted. This was a triumph and we left happy. It was now ten fifty a.m and we headed to the Sony building apparently full of the technology of the future. There were many many 3D televisions in there and I was on a mission to try everyone of them. After a while I could see Sarah wanted me to hurry up. We then went to Shiodome. Firstly we went to the Hama-rikyu gardens where we ate a cake, it was a chocolatey little number and tasted of uncooked dough. I found it very tasty however Sarah didn't and I ended up eating both. Then we went and found the world trade center we thought after all of the amazing buildings we found this would be the best. It was crap and you had to pay to go up it so we moved on. We then headed from there to Zojoji temple - unsure of the significance of this place but there was a monkey, in fact two monkey's, but only one of them could play the drums, this amused me especially when I noticed it's little shorts. Classic. Then to Tokyo tower - a giant horrible pylon which looked like the Blackpool tower but painted orange, it was pants. The next bit I was excited about as we went to the Prince Park Tower hotel (essentially a skyscraper hotel) and you can go up the tower. We walked in past all the bowing staff who thought we were staying there and zipped up in the lift to the bar. Was very impressive with views all over Tokyo... at least that's what we would have seen but at one thousand Yen a coke (about 7 pound 50 pence) we turned back round and past all the bowers. Worth mentioning its now about two o'clock and we have done all this on foot. We headed for the Rainbow Bridge a giant bridge linking two parts of Tokyo, Shiadome to Odaiba probably about 3 kilometres long and guess what? We decided to walk it. Was a nice walk mind and there were great photo opportunity if not a little windy. When we got to the other side there was a beach too cold for the old speedo's but it looked nice, so we had a deserved rest in Daiba Park again enjoying fantastic views. The next part of our epic walk saw us go to the Fuji TV Tower a right big building with a strange ball in the middle of two towers, this was just round the corner from a giant Ferris Wheel and an area called Venis Fort in Palette town and a place called 'Little Italy' which was a shopping center styled on Italy - it was big and quite nice. Then thank god after ten hours on our feet we got the underground back to the hotel. But we got as far as the Tokyo station and decided to walk to save money on our 'pasmo' card. Turns out it's a colossal distance which took nearly an hour, we were knackard and hungry, we found the closest thing we could to a 'vendor' and ate up and went back t he hotel room. I worked out that we had walked between twenty and twenty five miles today and I had a blister on my foot which looked dangerous to pop and very angry. Anyway I soon forgot about it as I rested my eyes at seven thirty and was a dribbling mess after literally ten seconds.
