We decided to spend an extra day in Rotorua to give me a chance to do a bit more horse riding. After having a wee go in Fiji my appetite was whetted and I went for a 2 hour trek just outside the town. What an amazing afternoon. We trekked through the 700 acre farm of the owners before going through native bush up to a view point where we could glimpse the lake and we had a great view of Ngongotaha (the mountain that overlooks Rotorua) for the majority of the trek. We trotted and cantered along, much to my delight but much less so of the father and son who had joined me! They reckoned the scare factor was higher than their skydive that morning! Hee hee!! Howellsey went to Paradise Springs wildlife park where they had a pride of lions and loads of less threatening kiwi flora and fauna, taking the chance to work on his photography skills at the same time. Second day in a row with no rain, go NZ! Ps. Howellsey's oysters from last night in the pic - see what I mean!
