Yesterday evening we went to shorebird centre near Miranda where we saw loads of bar tailed godwits who had flown non-stop from Alaska and Siberia to get there. It takes 8 days! We also saw Wrybills which are unique to New Zealand and have a bill that curves to the side - weird! We then pitched up at Miranda camp ground to find they had there own hot springs (don't mind if I do thank you!). We watched the New Zealand v France game in the TV room with lots of excited kiwis before heading to bed as we had an early start this morning! We headed over to Karaka, a suburb of Auckland to meet up with a mate of Howellsey. They took us for brunch then dropped us off at Eden Park for the Fiji v Samoa game. What service - thanks so much guys!! The game was fantastic in terms of atmosphere and the fans but Fiji never really got it going on the pitch. However their military marching bands were amazing - can't see the British bands dancing along to tunes in quite as enthusiastic a manner! Back to our base for some fab fush'n'chups and a good catch up with Dazzler and Becky.
