The Howell's On Tour!
Today, we left smelly Rotorua, and headed up through Te Puke (the kiwi fruit capital of the world - 80% of all kiwi fruit in the world is grown in this area apparently). The local signs emphasise this point with cartoon kiwi fruits telling us to drive carefully and put our litter in the bin - cute! We drove through as we fancied a wander up mount Manganui and then decided to stay. It's a lovely place with an excellent campground right by the mountain and beside the beach. Pic today is of the trig point which is less than 300 meters high and took us only 40 mins to ascend! Still, hard work as it's all up hill and I still have John Wayne legs from riding yesterday!!
