We met Rebecca and Liz outside Trinity Church in Lower Manhattan. This church has been around since 1696 and is a good example of gothic architecture. From there we walked to Wall Street - the "Financial Heart" of the world. We saw the BULL with too many tourist hanging off it, which is representative of a stock market rise. The opposite is a Bear Market for a crash. Then to the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall with the statue of George Washington - where he was sworn in as the first President of the USA, then back to St Paul's, the tiny chapel opposite the WTC, a very somber place and quite remarkable as I mentioned yesterday.
From here we undertook the long walk across the Brooklyn Bridge - a rite of passage for visitors to New York. We were headed for Juniors Diner - famous for cheesecake and other mouthwatering treats. I had a huge "half" sandwich of roast beef, Caesar salad, pickles, coleslaw.......and cheesecake! Nearly 3 hours later, back on the subway to Manhattan.
The Lion King in an hours time...
