Friday overcast
Well we were awake at 6am today because the power went out at the hotel. (council work) it seriously was the worst hotel A. I had to fix the toilet, even though i reported to broken hours before. Ants in the bed, and then no power. No power not usually a problem but the A/C's in the hotels here, tend to block out the early morning noise. Most people in Vietnam are up at the crack of dawn. $10 per night A, would of rather of slept on the beach.
Kim and I went to get some coffee across the road at a beach front cafe. We ended up staying there for awhile we were looking for a hotel to stay in for Hoi An.
We went back to the hotel and booked a room, then checked out and spent the rest of the day until 12ish at the empty beach. So nice, until you spot blokes going number two in the bush, they had their own toilet paper and newspaper. This one bloke was taking a photos of us swimming too.
We went for a short walk to dry off before grabbing a cab to the bus station. Didn't quite know what to expect on this bus trip, they have not be pleasant so far. We were kind of on our own here, and i was pretty tied and Kim still wasn't 100% also. We didn't have to wait long for the right bus and off we went.
The bus trip was perfect! no loud horn, music or crying babies. Seats were comfy and I got to sleep on a bus, finally. We stopped at a town called Quang Ngai for a break and made a note of it. It was where the My lai Massacre happened (worst one of the war). It is suppose to have good memorial site and museum. Also quiet beaches.
The only concern for the bus ride was towards the end, our stop wasn't the last stop. We were looking outside for addresses that are on top of shop entrances, but it was dark outside. Then we were hoping that someone would tell us when to get off. Luckily there were three Spanish people on the bus and they got told by someone next to them that this is the stop, so we followed. Weird usually we are greeted by taxi's and scooters not here, we found one taxi parked around the corner and decided to split the 10km ride into Hoi An.
We chose to stay at the An Hoi hotel, glad we did the rooms are new and clean much better than last night and already cracking jokes with the staff also comes with breaky, crazy what an extra $10 does. Still the bad times make you love the good times.
We went for a short stroll to get some water and the town made a great immediate impression. There are Chinese style lanterns everywhere French styled townhouses and they close off streets to the scooters and cars, for the shops and market stalls. It's going to good to walk these streets.
Hopefully tonight we get some solid Kip, big day planned for tomorrow.
