Friday - sunny
There was some thick cloud cover this morning, so there was no need to get up too early for the sunrise.
Although later on, it cleared up after breakfast, revealing some mountains that we haven't seen previously on this trek.
Kim had her usual Tibetan bread and cheese and for me the usual coffee because of the crappy nights sleep.
The big walk yesterday, set us up for a short 2hr downhill walk to the finish line today.
It was a pretty relaxed walk, plenty of photos and breaks for tea were taken. We had more walks through farming villages today. The town of Dampus was quite a large rice farming village. It reminded us of our walks through the Dazai rice terraces in China.
There were lots of people heading the other way today, struggling up the hill. We definitely went the right way on this trek, heaps of thanks to our guide for that. It was a lot easier, no where near as many big hills, and when the hard climbing had to be done, it was mainly in the morning when it was much cooler.
Well we got down to the finishing line which was at the town of Phedi and hopped in a cab back to our Pokhara hotel. Hanging for a steak and shower now.
Our guide Surya was fantastic. When we got back to our hotel he managed to drop our room price nearly 50%. Seriously this man went well above the call of duty of any guide.
Once settled into our room we went to the restaurant next door and had a few fair well drinks. It was sad to see Surya go, but he had to catch a bus back to kathmandu to start another trek.
After our goodbyes, we organized our bus tickets back to Kathmandu, then Kim and I went up the road to get a steak, for a late lunch early dinner. Mmmm mmm yummy the food in Pokhara is superb.
We then went for a walk about town, getting prices for laundry and paintings. We are looking for a couple paintings for our big blank walls back in Mbank. We know we are not going to back there for awhile, but it's ok.
We got back to the room with some treats for some movie watching and down time.
