Monday : perfect sunny weather
The clouds had gone and the stars were out, so we got up nice and early and started our walk up the hill in the dark.
We used our torch for awhile but soon enough we caught up to a big group of people so there was plenty of light.
We got to the top of the hill and there was loads of people, but the hilltop had plenty of room to move around and take photos.
The sunrise today was bloody brilliant! The mountains really shone this morning, we got some great pictures. There were so many peaks visible on top of Poon hill. It was cool how we got to sit up there with a cup of tea and watch the sunrise.
We didn't stay up there as long as we did for the Pokhara sunrise. We wanted to go down back to the lodge and get a table to have breakfast outside.
It felt great sitting outside in the sun with snow capped mountain peaks for our view. After breakfast we went down for a walk about town. It felt like we had the town to ourselves today, everyone had moved on to their next point. We bought a couple post cards, and one for our guide too.
We came back up to the lodge and the sun was still out. It's a bit unusual for the mountains to be visible after 9am. They're usually so shy and hide behind the clouds, but not today.
We decided to spend the day outside in the sun today, 2860m up surrounded up mountains. Including the worlds 7th largest Dhaulagiri 8172m. We played cards, had lunch, popcorn, beers, even ruksi it's a Nepalese home made spirit (bit rough). We were out side all day I got a little sunburnt but it's ok, was worth it.
We even got a hot shower with no charge. The lodges in the Annapurna region give tourists a bit more of a fair go. They're not trying to get all your money, they even have free battery charging.
The sky stayed clear all day we even got a pretty clear sunset, and then it was the other half of they mountains turn shine in the sun.
It was hard to eat dinner with all this going on. It finally got dark and we played more cards before bed. Keen to see another sunrise tomorrow.
