My Tuesday. I woke up at 6am to insure that i got to school on time (as my train leaves at 720 so i have to be out of the house by 645). I had heard that there might have been strikes on the metro today, so I had a slight feeling that my train wouldn't be leaving this morning. However, it turns out that both my metro and my train were on time. So I made it to my train on time and was waiting for it as it approached when another teacher from my school came up to me and got on the train with me. (Most of the teachers that work at my school live outside of Paris, closer to the school, but some of them live in Paris like me.) So we sat down and started going (it takes about 30 minutes to get to school by this point, normally arriving at 750) but, before getting to the first expected stop, we stopped at an unplanned stop and ended up waiting about 30 minutes because of what I think turned out to be a suicide on the train track. So I of course arrived to my class too late to see my students.My second teacher forgot to bring the audio that he wanted me to play for the students, so I ended up coming in for the last 20 minutes of class to simply speak to them in English and answer questions etc. Then my third class was good, it was the only class that I met up with. Their names were: Clement, Hugo, Kevin and Pierre-Antoine, I couldn't think of more French sounding names if I tried. They were quite well behaved, they struggled a little when I told them that I didn't speak French, but helped them out with words (that I knew in French) after they explained them a little to me. We discussed addictions, such as addictions to facebook and other internet related things. So we had a good chat for 55 minutes. We ended the session with a short question and answer session (them of course asking me questions about me and California, etc). Then after class (my last class was canceled because the students had internships to go to) I went home and at 7pm I met up with a conversation partner. We went to a café, I had coffee and chatted with him for an hour and a half and then he paid me 30euros for my time (and paid for my coffee) so all in all, it was a pretty sweet deal. So now here we are, I'm going to make dinner (chicken and rice) and then chill out for work tomorrow.
