Today I went to Vinceness which has a rather large park and finally played soccer here in Paris! It was great, I walked around for a bit, found the official sports complex, went in only to find that no one was in there playing then sat down for a bit then as I was going to leave, I saw five guys with soccer like clothing heading towards the metro (after having clearly done some sort of exercise) so I asked them if they had come from playing soccer and if there were still people playing. So they said yes and yes and then I went to search deeper in the woods that have fields in and among them. As a Saturday morning, there were a lot of people out and about, many people on bicycles and running. So then I found the huge field that had many different games of various sports going on: rugby, cricket even and soccer! So with much excitement, I went over to the first game that I saw and of course immediately realized that there were no women playing. But that was expected. So I sat down at the end of the field and watched for a minute but then one team scored and then they ended up finishing the game then. Bummer. So I had to figure something else out. Then, out of the corner of my eye in the distance I saw a mass of people running around and a soccer ball being kicked about. So, I of course was drawn immediately and headed over. This group had a few girls and they were more of my age than the other group. So we played for about an hour, it was nice. Then I gave them my email address so that I can be in contact with the group and the best thing is that they meet the same place every Saturday at 1130 so that means that I'll have a consistent group to play with. Oh so sweet. Then I came home and got some yogurt from the grocery store (there you have it mama) and had some lunch: left over pesto pasta with some fresh tomatoes and goat cheese with a grilled ham sandwich. And now I am starting to feel sore. haha. And I have made plans today to go and see a studio tomorrow of a friend of a friend (of a friend) so I am very glad that this apartment situation seems to be working itself out. Thank goodness.
