Tin Can Wanderings
A one-night stand, but we always take advantage of free water and shower.
Watched some boule (as opposed to pétanque) players. Cannot work out the rules at all. A stick shaped like a miniature golf iron is used to scratch a series of marks in the dust by each boule as it is played indicating heaven knows what, the boules themselves are larger than pétanque boules and, unlike the game as seen in Brittany, no use is made of side 'cushions' (think snooker). When a player chooses to 'strike', he takes a run up of some half dozen strides and launches his boule to a height of perhaps twelve feet.
