Bonjour - Day 2 of our Paris Escapade. We got an early start and caught the RER to Hard Rock Cafe to pick up our Paris passes and other goodies. Coffee time now. Poor Russel can't find anywhere that has a BIG cup when he orders his cafe latte, all the places so far have little cups. We jumped on board the Hop on Hop off bus and as usual we stayed on for the full circuit which took 2hrs 15 minutes. Nothing compared me for the breathtaking view of Arc de Triomphe. It would have been fantastic to have no one else here, deadly eerie silence around and take in all the history. As we drove down Avenue des Champs Élysées and saw the monument for the first time I literally got goosebumps. No wonder Cheevy Chase got lost going around and around the Arc as there are SO many streets that immerse into where it stands. We took an hour cruise (included in the Paris Pass) up the Seine - wow!!! It was great to get a different prospective when you saw everything from the water. There were young lovers arms intwined walking along the river - as they say The City of Love. I can certainly spot the difference from a local to a tourist and it's not just the huge camera around the tourists neck - haha. The locals never wear anything bright whereas the tourist, just like me, wears bright orange. Plus when they walk around they dress up and the ladies wears heels. Now we are having a "feet up" rest until we go out for dinner. It's been one LONG day but it's been brilliant and now we can say for certain - WE LOVE PARIS - and I got the bag to prove it LOL. Until tomorrow Au revoir.
