We are finally in Purnululu NP (the Bungle Bungles) after an interesting drive in many ways! We were half a day ahead of schedule so after a refreshing relax in Zebedee thermal springs, where tadpoles kept eating the dead skin on my feet, which tickled!, we added an extra stop at Parry Lagoon. Parry Lagoon is home to lots of birdlife and we also saw a huge lizard (possible a sand goanna or a yellow spotted monitor) which was about 1 meter in length. We stopped for lunch at a roadhouse in a place called Doon Doon and then discovered that our truck wouldn't start. After hanging around for a while we were by chance lucky enough to encounter 2 ATP tourist trucks similar to ours who gave us a jump start. We trundled along and finally reached the Bungle Bungles at dark. The track from the main road to the park is 53kms long and is very windy, muddy and turbulent. It was a very scenic drive though. Not quite sure how the truck will fair tomorrow though!
