Okki Abroad
Today was a quiet, but full day. Early this morning Jette, Dad and I went to the high school opposite the resort. The first week we were here, we had promised that we would return during our holiday. The school has 15 children in total, because they only started last year. All the kids gathered in one classroom to listen to our story. We told them about Australia and brought our iPad so we could show them pictures of Kangaroos and Koalas, which they had never seen. They were very interested in our stories and also asked about the dykes in the Netherlands, because they remembered we came from there. After breakfast we started painting the playground as our contribution / working bee during this holiday. It definitely needed a new coat of paint, so it was very rewarding work. It looks great and fresh again. After lunch it was time for another visit to Imani Ngong. It was great to see all their faces again and we had a fun afternoon with them. Tomorrow will be our last day. We are very sad to be leaving as we love it here so much. It is very sad that tourism is down so much, just because of negative travel advice from governments. They "translate" info from Kenya wrong on their websites and Kenya is suffering from that. It is very safe to travel in Kenya; we've never felt threatened or anything. People are very welcoming and friendly.
