Summary
we loved ~ pretty much everything. great to be back in the land of the tuk tuk - Jody wants one! What more could you ask for elephants, leopards, blue whales, mountains, beaches, palm trees and sunshire.
we didn't like ~ can't think of anything
The people ~ are some of the loveliest warm, friendly people of anywhere we have been. It feels like they are very honest and trustworthy too. None of the feeling of being ripped off either
Food ~ Sri Lankan food, although curry is a base staple, is very different from other types of curry meals we have had. Lots more small amounts of this and that. Excellent for vegetarians
Transport - well apart from our beloved tuk tuks, buses and trains are very regular and VERY cheap. 2 hour bus ride = 60p. 2 hour train ride = 70p. Ok so they may bit a bit crowded and a bit grubby, but you can't fault the service
Things which remind us of Sri Lanka ~ Lion Beer, Elephants, Curried Egg Pastries, Tea
Would we recommend it? definitely
