The thunder storm last night was an impressive display of natural energy lighting the entire Schleswig-Holstein sky fo half an hour or son before raining heavily and reducing the temperature to one we could sleep with.
Jasper walked promptly, we set off at 0800 and motored into a stiffening breeze down the North Sea canal to Brunsbuttle. We have followed advice from the Sadds who said it was worthwhile stopping here and looking around and were helped into a tricky berth by the nice Danes on Barolo we had met in Rendsburg.
It seems a bunch of us is taking off tomorrow morning for Cuxhaven and then making a dash into the German Bight on Wednesday morning - as long as the weather forecasts hold good. A boat cam alongside us here in Brunsbuttle pretty soon after we tied up and asked if I had a forecast. I assured him the best I could do was to forecast tomorrow would be Tuesday, nice man - he laughed.
We are right by the locks and have a pile driver going nearby, a nap maybe difficult, but we will try.
Richard of Brightstar is due back on board today and we may yet meet up in Holland, we hope so and we also hope to meet John and Jenny in Muiden and Theo and Mieke in Gouda, so Holland is looking very promising and we look forward to getting there.
