This was a stunning trip, memories abound with the highlight of the Cruising Association Ystad to Kalmar Rally captained by the charming Nicholas Hill.
On that rally we met a remarkable group of people who we will meet with again and agin and enjoy their company every time I am sure. There were some fabulous boats too from the mighty "Summ…
Our adventure starts in May 2016 when "October" a Hallberg Rassy 43 sets off from Portsmouth bound for the Baltic to join a CA rally in Sweden.
Wendy and I have sailed together since the early 1970s and will be sailing with Jasper, our Cocker Spaniel, on a trip to rival our round Britain in 2011 following retirement.
The boat is in wonderful condition and while the same cannot be said of her skipper, the crew is competant, obedient and a great cook so the prospects are good. We just…

You sound like a GRUMPY OLD MAN. You come in to the Dutch waterways with a completely unsuitable boat, 20 metre mast. Drawing 2.0 metres for depth. We are here and have encountered no problems and everyone very pleasant. You ought to go to France then you would know what frustration is.

Have been following some of your travels but I am not a good navigator!!!
Sounds wonderful! Not sure where you are now.
The rain never seems to stop here. We did have a couple of nice days in Koblenz. Planning to go back in at the end of July/August.
