Amazing drive to Collingwood, switchback roads over a huge hill(takaka). Weve found a nice friendly site to stay at for a couple of days. Weve decided we hate the big posh sites, its just like staying at an expensive car park. The small friendly (and cheaper) ones are much nicer!
Abit of rain last night, cant complain after idyllic weather at Marlborough Sounds. So we're doing laundry this am - funny how everything starts getting smelly sooner when youre camping!!
On a bushcraft note, I spent yesterday am making a little basket out of New Zealand flax, and Mary did a painting of our little bay.
The moon last night was a bit of a revelation! Going down in the west, should have been an old moon, but of course its a new moon! Should have been ) shaped (and hopefully was in the UK!), but was ( shaped! Had a look at the stars before it got cloudy, but its all so different - Sirius high in the sky!
Mary: Can someone please tell Mum that I agree about how hard it is to paint outside! Everything changes colour with the changing light - I wasn't very happy with the end result but enjoyed the experience anyway!
Ok, tumble drier should just about be finished now so I'll be off!
More soon, xxx
