Last night we watched the sun set from LaLits shack on the seafront. We sat on huge beanbags around a table, Violet was drinking chocolate milkshakes and we had a melon martini, to start.
The sun sets are really beautiful in Goa, the sun always looks huge and burns very orange and then very red. We nibbled on chicken satay and fed Violet chocolate ice cream... She's had so much ice cream I'm not sure how she's going to react to going back to ice cream just once a week! Ice cream Friday has turned into ice cream twice a day! Anyhow Violet has a little dance, runs about a bit and rocks the fishing boat that's filled with ice and lobsters fish prawns etc (close call- could have cost us a bit!) once the diva is asleep we order a bottle of fizz, a lemon butter red snapper to share and then mutton vindaloo with cheese garlic naan. The drink was lovely! It's called Chandon by Moët Chandon but as its not produced in the champagne region it's not champagne but it is 1/5th of the price! And very nice! Bargain! The fish was probably the best fish we've had here and the side of vegetables that came with it were amazing too. Next course is the vindaloo, the meat was amazing and d was a very happy man and sent his compliments to the chef! D also told the waiters that my dad is a fantastic chef that goes around the world etc... They thought that he meant me, bit embarrassing as I thought they were going to ask me how to make a soufflé or something haha The chef then comes out to meet us (me the fellow chef! Eeeek!) and we tried to get his secrets but the language barrier made it a little tricky- we will however give it a go when we get home and once perfected invite you all round for dinner!
Next comes a chocolate brownie to share, served warm with a small dish of hot chocolate sauce and a dish of ice cream... I've never seen d so happy and I had to tuck in to! Amazing dessert!
Later some local dances were performed by some people dressed in traditional clothing- it was fun but quite loud and nearly woke up Violet so was a close call to ending the night!
She slept on so we ordered a shisha filled with watermelon tobacco and two honey bee brandys with ice.... After six hours at the shack and feeling a little tipsy we call it a night! £110 total (INCLUDING the taxes) and money well spent.
Highly recommend visiting the shack even if not staying at the hotel.
Ps) never blog about how great your child is at getting out the pool to go to the toilet.... Just don't jinx yourself like that. It's not worth it.
