Hello again!!
Well, last night I went for tapas with the other language assistants, it was really nice to spend the night with them chatting and having tapas. Here it´s cheaper to eat out than eat in!!! This is because when you buy a beer or tinto de verano (wine mixed with lemon) for about 1.50euro, you get a tapa for free!! So far I´ve had serranito (a small sandwhich with serrano ham and a green pepper), pinchos (pork on a stick in spice), calamares (fried squid - which is actually quite nice!), and patatas ali oli (potatoes in garlic and olive oil). I´ve enjoyed all of them. They may not sound very nice but they are!!!
Today, I went to see my teacher, Nardi, at the school and she introduced me to everyone. Everybody over here is really friendly, one of the teachers has even invited me for dinner with her family!! I´ll be working Tues, Weds and Thurs (nice long weekend for travellng!!) and I work normally between 9.30 and 3pm. My time will be split between teaching the kids and teaching the teachers!!
After I´d been to the school I met up with two other language assistants, Rachel and Sarah, and we went to have a look at gyms and dance schools. We´ve decided we´re going to give Salsa and latin dancing a try!!!! So as of tomorrow at 10.30pm I will be having my first every salsa class!!! So excited about that.
Then we went to Rachel´s house were she lives with a Spanish girl and a Morrocan boy, called María and Sammy). Sammy made us Morrocan tea and biscuits. It was delicious!! Very very sweet tasting but lovely!!
And now I´m here, passing some time before I go meet Rachel and Max for tapas which should be great. Looking forward to working tomorrow!
Hope you´re all well xx
