Sydney is known for it's numerous great beaches and there is a coastal walk that you can do to see them al - it is quite a big walk as you have to go around all of the rocks and land etc, much longer than getting to each beach by the roads.
It was such a clear day but with a nice breeze so decided it'd be perfect to do the walk today. Bronte Beach is not as far from us as we thought so might spend a day or two there sometime soon. the walk from Tamarama Bay to Bondi along the coast is beautiful. There is one point where you can look back along the coast and can see Tamarama and Bronte as well as the edge of Coogee. There is also an area where you can walk out onto the rocs and see Bondi, such a great view of it.
When we got to Bondi we stopped for an ice cream before continuing along to North Bondi. This morning we'd read a leaflet about a good pot for New Years Eve where you can see all of the city, Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The map it had made it look as though this park was close ish to North Bondi so we decided to keep walking and go check it out. After a very, very long walk up Military Rd, which has to be like the longest road ever, we eventually stopped to give up thinking we must have gone wrong somewhere as it seriously couldn't be this far as the map showed it wasn't!! But then this sweet old lady who was enjoying the sunshine on her porch told us not to give up as we were almost there. We continued on up the hill, even Nick admitted his legs were hurting now and we finally got to Dudley Point Reserve!!
Unfortunately the weather wasn't as good over the city as it was on the coast so the photos don't look great but it really was a fantastic view, the Opera House and the Bridge right in front of us - beautiful. We relaxed on a park bench enjoying the great city view before making our way back - however we gave up part way and got the bus home! With it being so much further up than we'd expected it was a very long walk back to our apartment!
It is a great spot but not for us on New Years Eve we don't think as we would prefer to be more in with the action closer to the Opera House. But was definitely worth the hike there.
