Waterfall Way
After our pit stop for showers, we drove to Coffs Harbour. There wasn't much to see here, apart from a random big banana. Just south of Coffs Harbour we cut inland and began the waterfall way, passing through a nice little town called Bellingden. Our first stop was the rainforest discovery centre on the outskirts of a town called Dorrigo. Whilst at the discovery centre we walked along the skywalk, which had nice views at the end. On the other side of Dorrigo we visited the Dangar Falls... these falls were really impressive. It was too cold to hang around too long though, so had some sandwichs in the warmth of our camper car.
As we continued along the road heading towards the town of Armidale the weather turned nasty unfortunately. Luckily when we reached the next major falls, Ebor Falls, the weather cleared up somewhat. At Ebor falls we had a lookout of an impressive valley which stretched into the distance, and then the falls themselves had to parts, lower and upper. Both were big falls, unfortunately there wasn't any paths to get really close to them. We still got some pictures though.
As we reached the end of the waterfall way and headed out of the hills towards the town of Armidale the weather changed dramatically... glorious clear skies were now above us. We headed south, eventually staying at Moonbie lookout. This is where we stayed the night. After our evening meal and beers we got into bed, then Lucy says 'kangarooooo'... Peter thought 'yeh right, stop tricking'... BUT there was actually a kangaroo stood 15yards from our camper car. So Peter climbed into the front and grabbed the camera, as he opened the door the roo skipped off into the bushes! Good work Peter... durrr!
The next day we had a couple of hours drive to the tiny village of Wallabadah where there was a lovely little camping ground near a river and next to a memorial park. We spent the whole day here relaxing in the lovely sunshine, sipping beer, stuffing our faces, and writing blogs etc. In the afternoon we went for a walk to the local shop for ice lollies... when we returned our privacy had been invaded by a group of caravans who had parked right next to us... might as well off bumped Sherbet out of the way! Annoying aussie man = COCK!!
