We drove out of Melbourne city through the suburbs again avoiding the toll roads. We stopped at a service staion to grab some breakfast then drove most of the day, calling into a safeway at Lakes Entrance for a hot roast chicken. :-) After driving a little further down the road we stopped at a forest like rest area. The toilets weren't very nice and lucy got her bum bitten a few times after going to the loo. Not good.
The next morning we drove back into NSW, visiting eden and a few lookouts to which we saw a snake at the side of the walk way. Peter nearly s*** himself and kept his distance. Literally 5 minutes after seeing the snake we drove past a golf course with about 40 kangaroo's on it. They seem to like settling on golf courses in Australia.
Further down the road we found a cheese factory called Bega, where we tried loads of different flavours of cheese. Compared to all the other cheese in Australia it turned out to be fair cheap. So obviously we had to buy some along with some cracked black pepper pate.. yummmmy!!
Narooma was nice with some great lookouts, amazing views and birds with massive beaks which Peter absolutley loved. That night we stayed at a rest area just south of Batemans bay, to which batemans bay had nothing to see or do. We made our way to jervis National park but had to pay so we didn't bother.
For dinner we made chicken soup and ate it at seven mile beach, then made our way to Kiama blow hole which was pretty cool, watching the water gush up through the hole.
The following morning we packed all our bags, cleaned out sherbet ready to drop him off. Again avoiding all the toll roads into sydney we found the depot to drop him off.. what an emotional moment that turned out to be.
From picking our campervan up and dropping it off we had driven 7540km.. WE CAN DRIVE!!!!
