The beginning of 2009 saw us having plenty of nights out including Katie's friends party on Oxford street, not being allowed in to Star Bar because we were wearing Thongs (apparently). Vicky and Amy decided they were leaving Sydney and left work, Emily wasn't far behind them whilst Kirsty and Michelle stayed in Sydney with Adele on some serious saving mission. Oh we also got our Ipod speakers confiscated out of our room by reception...how rude??!!! January also saw Michelle turn 23-unlucky! We celebrated by going to Torronga Zoo, we LOVED the gorrillas. We also had a surpise party and cake for her how exciting. On Michelle's birthday night out she went to Myer My Store for her MAC makeover and then we got Gooned!! Kirsty had an arguement with a free loader wanting our goon, she got him told. Emily came for a drink after her buffet meal at the top of Sydney Tower but was too full to come to town so kidnapped the DVD player and the rest of us headed to Side Bar! Michelle had her first attempt at making Yorkshire Puds...she is no Aunt Bessy, it looked like a sponge cake!! We also went to see Marley and Me at a cinema in George Street, it was a bit post we even got seat numbers (the tickets were a christmas present from Adecco, our agency). We also discovered the bowling alley in Darling Harbour, we didn't really have much time by time Adele had finished dilly dallying around so we got a taxi. The driver entertained us asking us "Where the f**k are you lot from?!" Kirsty also made the mistake of saying she would like a gander around Star City...it enetertained the driver whilst we explained what she meant!! We wlaked home, Mike found a short cut, the steepest hill ever!! Vicky and Amy left so everyone went to Thai Intra to see them off apart from Kirsty and emily who were at work! We also climbed Sydney Harbour Bridge, well tried, the first time we had to go back because of a thunder storm so we went back the next day to do it again!! I was really good! We could see for miles once we had got to the top of the arch. We had a night out in Kings Cross...it was like being in the middle of Halifax town centre on a Saturday night...rough!! We had another night bowling and drinking in Darling Harbour with Stephen and Mark from room 209 to say bye bye to Mike. Adele and Michelle are now happy because Home and Away and Neighbours are back on and all they ever do is watch TV!! Emily also left Sydney to go and meet Vicky and Amy. We had a new roomie called Kate, she is very nice we liked her but was sad to see her leave a week later. The day Kate left it was 41 degrees outside...sooo hot!! On the 26th january it was Australia Day (day off for Kirsty!!) we went to Hyde Park, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour to watch the fireworks in the rain! Kirsty and Leslie were also leaving (gutted) so we went out for drinks to the Slip Inn, it was a giggle! And before you know it we were in February!!
