Our third week in Sydney has consisted of more trips down Pitt street to yet MORE recruitment agencies...we are becoming experts at finding our way down that street!! We had a result this week we discoverd THE best Irish pub...Scruffy Murpheys, $5.95 for dinner...bargin!!We had a night in in which Kirsty had to make the girls look pretty...yep it took her a while! Vicky was appointed as hairdresser and did a good job...shame about her own hair do!! Michelle took it apon herself to make Kirsty look like a clown...do not let her loose on you with make up!!
We had a few days chilling in the sun in the park as it's getting a lot hotter now. Vicky dragged Kirsty to Urban steel for their ear's pierced, Kirsty would of definately chickened out if Vicky wasn't there to stop her ha!!
We took a trip to our third beach across in Manly. We took the ferry from Sydney which is a fantastic way to see the views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We got to Manly beach and it was full of kids...made us feel soooo old! Anyway they were all soooo drunk and annoying and it was a bit chilly so we left fairly early as it was Friday night and we had some drinking time to get ready for!!
Friday night we headed to Scruffy Murphey's in a bid to find our Gerry (you've all seen P.S. I Love You!). Vicky succeeded ...the rest of us however...unlucky!!ha! Was really good in Scruffy's, it was really busy, the music was decent and they had a good band on. After closing at Scruffy Murphey's we headed up George Street to Scubar...had another quality night in there, we even had our own fan club!! Rolled in at some early hour of the morning...don't know how as we were 'Drink Walking' and nearly got runover by a taxi (but ssshhhhh...don't tell our mum's!!).
Saturday night Michelle, Kirsty and Vicky decided it was time for round 2 and got ready and headed to Scruffy's! We hadn't been there long before we met our new Irish friend Raymond (What did you think of him Sadie?!!) and his friends. They took us to another bar at the other side of town...but no one seemed to know where it was, the taxi driver got fed up and kicked us out leaving us to find it all by ourselves. Eventually found it and it wasn't too cracking...taxi time for us!!
We have seen our first Spider...SO SCARY ! It was in the kitchen and it was HUGE! Luckily we persuaded a lad to catch it and he threw it off the roof. Other news from this week...we can all now legally work behind a bar! yey! We passed our course with flying colours. Don't ever go to an interview at Customer 1 to 1...the worst interview you could imagine and if that isn't bad enough they tell you you have got a job and then take it off you!!
We are doing really well at cooking, well we were doing well until Michelle tried to cook chicken in the oven by turning the light on (wondered what took so long) and poured the noodles down the sink ! We have also involved the kitchen in a vote as to whether we should put an egg in fish cakes or not...the vote 'No' won!
Kirsty and Michelle took a trip out to find a stamp to post a card to England...it wasn't as simple as they thought. They visted three shops and got told three different things including being told there is no post boxes in Australia!! Being the path finders that Kirsty is they found not one but two post boxes...dilemma number 2...which one to put it in?? They asked a randomer and took a chance, whether it gets there or not is a different matter!!
Oh, we went to the cinema to see House Bunny...if it comes out in England go and see it (Harmony...you will see what we mean!!).
Hope you are all ok in rainy England and we will keep you all updated!
