Sorry for the delay....we've been busy working! We know you're all eager to know what we're upto Amy's finally got here safe and sound and is actually browner than Emily and Michelle...sad to admit but it's true! We'll get there one day even if it does take a year!
Had some really good nights out but trying to get a taxi back is a right job and a half they do NOT like taking us 5 minutes up the road it's against their religion...we usually talk them round though and nearly get us wrote off asking them to do u-turns aaarrgghh After one night out Amy and Matt decided to crash in our room...Amy got in the top bunk with Emily...Kirsty was terrified it was going to collapse on her! Matt got in with Michelle and we heard a big thud in the middle of the night....he'd fallen out...think he preferred to sleep on the crisps!
Taken a few trips to Coogee Beach...the waves are huge! You spend more time on your arse than on your feet. Good job cause when you stand up you've usually lost half your bikini and your stood there in your birthday suit...how embarrasing ! Kirsty also had a traumatic experience...she nearly drowned...we've got abit of a drama queen on our hands (Susan knows what I mean!) You've all probably heard but we also saw a baby shark (AKA a barracuda) Its teeth were MASSIVE and it was thrashing about...pretty scary....could have eaten a small child as a snack (...well maybe not...but it was an experience)!
Been to see the Australia-New Zealand Rugby League game...was amazing! Outside the grounds the aboriginals were dancing the girls could well shake their asses! Got to our seats where we were sat with the gods but the view was pretty impressive...there were over 34,000 people there! The opening ceremony began with the aboriginals making fire from a stick and a rock...bit boring as it took about 15 mins! Then Izzy from neighbours sang 'Hero" and all the fireworks exploded! Teams came onto the pitch and sang their anthems! As soon as Darren Lockyer appeared it was love at first sight for Vicky...she hasn't stopped talking about him since! The atmosphere was buzzing and we took part in several mexican waves...so much fun After the match we walked in a two mile circle trying to find a bus and also whilst walking under a tree there was a baaaad smell...Amy P knew what it was....bats! (Apparently you smell them before you see them) Discovered Bogarts on the way home and had pizza...we're now all addicted and will shortly look like pizzas! Emily should NOT eat cheese before going to bed as she woke up in the middle of the night and thought there was a swarm of flies/spiders descending from the ceiling...jumped out of the top bunk and frantically started looking for the light...Kirsty thought she'd gone bod. Need to keep an eye on her...think she's cracking up...but really!
As it was hallowwen the other week we had to think of a quick outfit...was abit last minute so decided to dress as schoolgirls...needed to improvise as we had no outfits so put our hair in pigtails and drew a few freckles...jobs a good'un! Went to Darling Harbour and felt prim and proper for the first time since we'd been here with our glasses of champagne!
Only had one trip to the cinema this month....makes a change to the weekly visit! Went to see RocknRolla was really good....Michelle however was going to see Burn after Reading apparently! On the way back heard a bang thought someone was shooting at us...think we exaggerated as it was really a tyre popping!
We're getting the Sunday Roast down to a tee now especially the yorkshire puddings! Whilst we're on the subject of food....went to Thai Intra (another of our favourites!) with our jeans and hoodies. The man said "Takeaway...yeah' as if to say you aren't sitting in here looking like that...how rude! Kirsty also tried having a midnight snack the other night...BAD idea! Vicky launched herself off the topbunk and assaulted Kirsty trying to get the bread out of her hands...she got told!
All signed up for our medicare cards now which gets us 60% off our medical supplies....no doubt Kirsty will be taking full advantage as she's bound to be poorly sometime soon!
Was Melbourne cup day the other day which is a horse race similar to the Grand National but massive...the whole of Melbourne has the day off work! Why are we in Sydney...godammit! Alot of hype for a race that lasts five minutes though ...but whatever floats their boat!
The highlight of our (working!) holiday so far was the Chris Brown and Rihanna concert at the Acer Arena! Andy gave us a lift in the scooby doo van...was impressed we actually got there! Also had some drama at the turnstiles we got green arrows and waved through by some woman then when we tried to get into the actual arena we were denied access without wristbands! Security told us we'd come through the wrong door and thought we were lying because our tickets shouldn't have let us through...but they did!!Got escorted to the correct door (got to queue jump so felt importaant!) finally got our wristbands and headed to the standing area. Chris Brown came on first and was amazing..such a good dancer and as for the body...WOW! Rihanna then made an appearance...she was amazing too not a big fan of her outfits though! At the end she sang umbrella...Chris Brown joined her to finish off but she ran off stage holding her stomach never to return! Apart from that was a really good concert although wouldnt go standing again...couldn't stand up afterwards....Emily felt like she'd done the concert herself! We were in the middle of nowhere and they were going to charge us $100 for a taxi...forget that! We woke Andy up and he chugged along in his camper van...could hear him a mile off...much appreciated though !
On one of our days off it was slightly overcast (nothing new there then!) so we decided to do the the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk although there was much debate about which way to actually go haa! Being the educated people that we are we decided to go right! Took 2 and a half hours but was good fun...took lots of photos and did abt of pole dancing on the way round. Didn't see any whales or dolphins though
The other night we were slightly concerned when the tap kept turning itself on but our concerns were resolved when Vicky woke up in the middle of the night and saw what could only be described as a 'figure' stood at the end of her bed. At first she thought it was Kirsty but she then realised Kirsty was in bed! Aaaaarrgghh!
Weather hasn't been right cracking....there was a massive thunderstorm the other night....lit the whole sky up purple and we'd never seen so much rain! All this bad weather is making us spend more...we went for a manicure and a pedicure the other day as we had nothing else to do! The chairs were ace...massaged us at the same time! Also discovered the joys of goon (cheap white wine..made from fish eggs)...bought our first box....4 litres for $10 when we went out for Jeannine and Martins leaving do.
We had a fair on our road the other day....lots of stalls! Went on a spinning ride and it nearly made us all sick couldn't hold our heads up! Also went on the slide showed how unfit we are...had 4 goes and couldnt climb up the stairs again. Also acquired a few friction burns...oooow! Had a corn on the cob to cheer us up :)
Finally we need to make you aware of the ridiculous adverts they put on the TV over here...we've got "I like Bing Leeeeeeeeeeee' 'The things we do for love' and not to forget 'Myer is Mystore'!
There's lots of wildlife round here too...not the nice koalas and kangaroos you'd imagine but rats bats spiders and cockroaches and also the odd earwig in Matt and Amy P's tea!
That's all for now...might update you again by christmas! Will gladly receive any gifts....you all know our address or if you don't just ask...we'll be glad to give it you :)
