So we are on week number two and are feeling quite at home in Sydney. We took a trip to Coogee beach, was a very nice beach and we had lots of fun watching Vicky reinact Pammy from Baywatch...I'll be ready! haaa!! After a hard days work at the beach Kirsty, Vicky and Michelle took a trip into town. We ended up in Scubar until the early hours of the morning with our new found French friends Samy and Ronan who kept us entertained for a while. When Scubar closed, Michelle and Kirsty were still standing and decided to walk back to Glebe, meeting Zach, Gilbert and Nik on the way. The night finally took it's toll on Michelle so there was only one thing for it...we loaded her into a shopping trolley and sent her on a terror ride up Glebe Pt Road as Nik could barely walk himself nevermind control a trolley!
We have done a few days work, it was very exciting! Our first job was working for Infosalons at an exhibition at the Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour. This job was very challenging...naaaat! It was the most mind numbing role ever!! Luckily we had some security guards to keep us entertained! Kirsty was the lucky one as she worked with a cool Aussie called Abdul and they just spent the whole day chatting and laughing at people walking into the glass doors! Vicky attracted the attention of a very wierd German guard called Youseff who was on a massive power trip and Emily worked with THE strictest guard every and he annoyed everyone he came into contact with! Michelle on the otherhand had a cushy little number sat behind a desk...no achy feet and back for her!
As we never got a day off together it was generally spent chilling out in our room looking for jobs, laying in mini lovers park getting sunburnt (Emily!!), or if we were really lucky like Emily and Vicky, watching Bendy Em's fella doing his juggling act on the harbour front...and added delight was a cancan dance from Henrietta a crazy 82 year old woman who also took it apon her self to pull a moony at the watching crowd...unlucky! We also found the nicest coffee shop in the world, 'Gloria Jeans', they do the nicest white hot chocolates, perfect to warm our toes in this cold weather!
We spent a fair bit of time wandering around Pitt Street...THE longest street in the world looking for job agencies...we have now signed up for three so watch this space!
