Mary's Travels
We left our phone off the hook, so we were unable to get a wake up call. I heard Mrs. Dreas knocking on our door 15 minutes before we needed to leave Paris. So I let my roommate Sarah know, and we quickly got dressed and packed. We made it down by 8:00 and wrapped up some breakfast in a napkin to go. Sarah was not happy, but at least we slept in for a total of almost 6 hours of sleep! We hurried out the door to la gare de Lyon. Two guys thought we were just too beautiful to handle, so they followed us to the station and let us know. After Michael told them off, we waited for the TGV. La gare de Lyon and the TGV were big deals to us- they were all over our first year French books. It was stressful getting everything on because the TGV only stops for three minutes and we needed to get 36 Americans' luggage on. But we made it to Avignon where we went to a grocery store and bought food for a picnic at a Roman aqueduct. It was REALLY hot, so I ate my nectarine from Spain in the Roman aqueduct water. Casual. After that we went to Nimes. Unfortunately, there was a homage to the Beatles concert, so the colosseum was closed. Instead we went shopping and exploring for a bit and went to the hotel a little earlier than planned, but that's alright because we were pooped, as usual. We had a four person room, with me and Sarah, in addition to Meghan and Amelia. The wifi isn't great but it's a nice town :)
