Mary's Travels
We woke up early to make the trek out to Honfleur, Normandy. For breakfast we had packaged crêpes to go, and they were still amazing. After dropping off Laure at the stables, we headed out. It was a misty dreary morning, but brightened up when we got there. First we stopped at a souvenir store where we bought some of Normandy's famous caramel. Then we went more into town where we bought fresh fish. I've never seen fish so fresh. After finding something to put it in, Anne, Claire and I walked around a bit and I bought a classic Normandy navy striped shirt. Then Marie and Sarah arrived. We walked around with them until lunch time. We ate outside by the water and all had fresh mussels and fries. Yum. I ate the most out of all of us. They were so fresh that there were tiny little crabs inside. If you didn't get them out, it made for a very crunchy bite. For dessert I had a chocolate and banana crêpe with whipped cream on the side. Claire got a caramel crêpe- classic in Normandy. They were both really good, but filled us to the brim. After that, we walked around more, stopping at two churches and some fountains. We made our way back to the center, and Marie and Sarah enjoyed a spin on the merry go round. It was 4:00, so we decided it was time to leave. We picked up Laure and when we got home she rushed around to get ready for a party, then went off. For dinner we had sole fish that they bought today at a fisherman's stand in Normandy. It was fantastic- so fresh. Claire and I stayed up late just watching tv and playing Laure's logo game.
