Route to Spray Point Station, Waihopai Valley. We decided to do the 7 hour drive to our next work exchange in one day. We left Tim and Gaylene's early, said our good byes and headed north. We took it easy up the route one coast highway and arrived in Blenheim about 6 hours later. This was by far the most remote helpexchange we did. A hour from the nearest town, located in the Waihpai valley, it looked like montana, complete with ranches dotted in between large dams streams and tall moutain ranges.
We stayed with The Mapp family who ran an adventure activity B&b on their massive plot of land, which had over 20km of tracks and mt Stronvar (summit 1350m).
We experienced the real outdoors, setting possum traps and riding horses on their land, we were lucky enough to stay in the cottage they had restored, complete with outdoor baths that overlooked the gorge. Pretty spectacular views.
