Milford sound
we had ben told that a vist to milford was a must see, the rain was still doing its best to sabotage our plans, but we booked a cruise along the milford anyway. The drive through the Fiorland was pretty special, another pocket of NZ that is completely different, this time glacial landscapes and pre-historic looking caves. The rain had created thousands of waterfalls tumbling off the jagged rocks, however the wind was soo severe that the water was blown into clouds that hovered around the steep rock face. We agreed that the drive was as good as the actual cruise. The road that weaved through thick forrests and in between rock gorges over flowing with water was like something out ot Juriassic park. On boad our boat the 'milford adventure', the water was very choppy causing a lot of aggessive swaying. Our fellow japanese passengers would respond to each sudden lurch with a loud 'wo-ooooooooo' which was rather humourous. The boat navigated through the sound and out to the tasman sea, waves smashing into the boat and drenching the unlucky/ slow passengers still on deck.
