I am not alone here at the moment, something or someone is always with me. I think it's also known as a jetlag. I woke up before 5.30 this morning and whatever I tried, I couldn't fall asleep again. So I went downstairs to sit on the internet for a while and to decide what to do. They worked on the tracks today so I thought it was better not to go by train today.
It was dry when I left here, although it was still cloudy. There were signs that the sun would come out soon so it seemed a perfect day to make the cliffwalk from Bondi beach to Coogee beach. It's about two hours walking if you don't stop to take pictures or to sit on the beach or take a swim. I left my towel at home so no swimming for me this time.
Everything they say about this route is true, it's amazing, with the cliffs and today was a very windty day so the waves were great too. I enjoyed the walk, between all the joggers that were running there. I almost felt guilty that I was taking it quiet today. Before I realised it, I had reached Coogee beach and sat in the sun for a while, watching ppl go by and enjoying the sound and smell of the ocean.
After this walk I went back to the center by bus and I was clueless for a couple of minutes. I planned to go to Taronga zoo, but my attractions pass wasn't meant for the zoo, so no zoo this time. I will kuddle a koala anyway, next week in Brisbane. :) Back on the ferry I thought it would be nice to go back to Manly beach, half an hour on the ferry and take a walk from Manly to Shelly beach. Yes it was beachwalkday today. ;)
There is something about having a talk on the ferry, but every time I am on the Manly ferry, there is someone to have a chat with. Today was on the way to Manly a woman and man from Montenegro, who moved 39 years ago to Australia. It was a very nice talk with this friendly couple so time flew. When I went back to Circular Quay, next to the Opera House, where the ferry takes off, I was sitting in a corner and someone sat next to me. It was a very talkative lady frm 96 years old. She told me that she moved from Croatia to Australia, in 1952 by boat from italy. She arrived there, where the Europeans entered Australia for the first time too. This woman made me smile so much, she told me a lot, and everything about Sydney was very nice. :))
I went to the Sydney tower Eye to end the day, to watch over the city from the highest building in the city. Pity there were so many ppl up there, but it gave great shots at least. From the Tower I had a nice burger in an Irish pub, as I need my energy for tomorrow. Tomorrow I finally go to the Blue mountains to see the great stuff there. :) Not sure if I take the train from 7.21 or from 8.24. I think I let the jetlag decide, depending when I wake up tomorrow. ;)
I wish I could write that everything was fine, but there is one thing that I can't get used to yet. This hostel. It's so noisy, the ppl in the corridors and in general. Maybe I need to get over it and just accept it, and luckily my roommates don't snore and are quiet, but it's such a pity. It made me sad today, I thought it would be nice to maybe cook something or to sit in the living room, but I am not feeling at home here. Maybe it's because most of the travellers are younger and love to party, or maybe it's because I love my rest and peace and don't need company all the time. Maybe I am just someone who prefers doing her own things without others around too much. It was this that made me decide to have dinner in that irish pub. Don't feel like preparing my own food here. But hey, as long as the days are great, I try to keep the nights short as possible. So to end this blog for today, I think I should be thankful for mr jetlag, less time in bed ;)
See u tomorrow! :))
