Day 11: Today we get our bikes, so I was stoked about that. We would be biking and touring Malmo, the City of Tomorrow, the most sustainable city in the world. We got our bikes around 9 and toured the community of Bo01 City, where I was able to see the architecture of the modern city. It was absolutely the most stunning thing I have ever seen. It was literally an architecture playground.
Biking the city alone I was able to see some of the most great buildings and parks. I am so glad we were able to get bikes for a couple days since biking you can go around to so many parts of the city that you can't really do with walking. So it was a lot different how we moved in Malmo. It was great. We were able to see the Turning Torso in the background. It was beautiful. And so, so many modern buildings. It was awesome.
Malmo is a lot different than Stockholm. Just walking from the train station to our hostel, I fell in love. Malmo is half the size of Stockholm, so it was less crowded. But it also had more ways of getting around. Since Stockholm is made up of islands, it was hard to get around using bridges and going along the coast by foot. But because we got bikes, we were able to see more of the city, and were able to get farther.
After our tour of the community, we had some free time before our class lecture at 4. Some of us stayed at the waterfront where they swam. I just got my cinnamon bun and coffee and sketched by the waterfront. After that, we biked along the coast to an archery field where we turned around and headed back to the hostel, cutting through parks and several blocks.
Class was eh. We were able to present our Read the City Project, so I was glad that was over. Today our professor bought us dinner and drinks and we had a class dinner where Roxy and Ranata cooked for us, so it was nice. After dinner though, we all had a few to drink so we were all tipsy. I, of course, "swam in the ocean," and threw up. Typical. Haha. But it was a fun night. A great one.
It was a great night that I am glad I spent with my friends.
