The adventures of Lucy...
Saturday 4th March- Today, Charlotte, Sun and I headed to Guada do Embau beach. It was a fanstatically sunny day and we were looking forward to getting down to some proper sunbathing! It was such a beautiful beach- to get to the beach we had to take a rowing boat- one of the ones that i sat in last week at about 3 in the morning!! Well.....we got there and then it absolutely chucked it down- typical! We waited for ages but decided that the sun was not going to come back- we were right- typical of the weather here!! Went for run along Beira mar in eve.
Sunday 5th March- Went to local market in the morning, it had loads of fab stalls but i managed to resist..well actually i bought a belt for 75p!!In the afternoon, George, Roberta, Sun and I went to Praia Vermelho. The scenery on the way was fantastic- check out the photos! We had to park and walk for about half an hour to get to the beach..it was an amazing beach, practically deserted- only about 15 people on the whole beach. Went back to George's mum's beach house and ate amazing banana fritters!
Monday 6th March- Today at school we took the children to a fantastic park- it is so good that they get the opportunity to play in these safe, public areas. We got a lift back in one of the professor's fuska's (beattle)- and listened to Jack Johnson on the way back....wish i had been going on a road trip! At our capoeira lesson, another amazing guy turned up and he had been playing the sport for over 15 years- he is so amazing at it and so full of energy-it certainly gave us some inspiration.
Wednesday 8th March- Today at school i picked loads of limes and managed to take lots home with me...so useful for the old Caipirinha!! We got interviewed by the state of Catarina lunctime news reporter!!! Charlotte and i made fools of ourselves by having to get the children to imitate our 'typical English dancing'...??!!!
Thursday 9th March- the staff had a meeting at work this morning and left Charlotte and i to look after all of the children- it went from fun, to crazy, to an absolute nightmare- children hitting eachother, throwing toys etc. In the afternoon, we went to Campino, and the boy who likes to bite me really had it in for me this afternoon- he would not stop! At 6 in the evening with caught the bus to FOZ DO IGUZU.....read on to hear the amazing experience!!
