Friday 10th March- we arrived at the hostel at 8 am, after a 15 hour bus journey! We dumped our stuff then headed out to check out the Brazilian side. We caught the bus and it droppped us off at the top of the falls and we walked down and down towards the falls, we could eventually feel the water on our bodies- awesome! There were some fantastic photo opportunities- i took loads of photos of the rainbows created by the vast amount of mist. In the evening, we had a great buffet dinner- noone was up for staying at the bar so we went to bed! Saturday 11th March- got up really early to catch the bus to the Argentinian side. There was a whole coach load of us, it felt like we were on a school tour! The driver was so crazy it was hilarious! We stopped at the boarder between Brazil and Argentina, and we also could see the river running to Paraguay too!When we got to passport control, he made us wipe our feet on a mat- supposedly becasue of foot and mouth!! We then got to the falls and took an awesome safari truck through the sub-tropical jungle. Aparently they receive 4000 visitors each day, and in the jungle, there are over 400 species of birds!!We then went on a speed boat and went right up to the waterfulls, we went into one aswell and got completely drenched- it was awesome! We then went and sunbathed on the island's beach for a while and then walked round the island and again, got some amazing photos of the falls.We then took a train to the most amazing and most breathtaking part of the falls- the Devil's throat. In the evening, we played pool with some crazy Isralian guys, and had lots of caparinhas, also met a German guy who looked just like Prince William! Sunday 12th March- Faith and i went and checked out the local town area and went to a newly opened department store, where we were given free roses and popcorn, i bought a beach sarong and a wolley hat- interesting combination!! We then got an evening bus back to Floripa! Monday 13th March- got home at 8 and chilled for the rest of the day. Made great pancakes with Sun before heading to Capoeira. Faith lost her phone and wallet on the way though, and we called her phone and spoke to a crazy woman, luckily a police car came round the corner, and a random guy who happened to speak English cycled passed. Faith started to cry and it worked as the policeman felt sorry for her and so we all headed back to the bus terminal in the police car- was great fuN! After capoeira we went to Botiquim and met up with Caju, a guy from capoeira and his friend Leo. We had some great cocktails then headed to town to try and find a club open, nothing was, so we went to Lagoa and played snooker until 5 in the morning! Tuesday 14th March- not surpirsingly we felt rough in the morning after one and a half hours sleep! Had a great theatre demonstration at school- although we were so tired that we nearly fell asleep! Wednesday 15th March- went to our local bar again in the evening, and headed to a club after. Met a crazy Brazilian guy who has only just moved over here from spending his life in London- his accent was hilarious! Thursday 17th March- Today, i helped Madeline with the 5-6 year olds. It was a bit crazy until we played musical chairs with them- they loved it!
