Sunday 19th Feb- Forgot to put the clock back and hour so went to Sun's house to go trecking at 7 in the morn!We didnt end up going because it was raining so much! Taught Roberta and George the card game spitting. Played a drinking game in the afternoon (?!!?!) Monday 20th Feb- Had our first proper day at the Alpha genche project today. Played lots of football; i even scored a goal with my right foot! In the eve we went to a local bar, and watched the U2 concert on a widescreen TV, live from Sau Paulo. Had an amazing house cocktail consisting of mint, strawberries, rum, champagne and of course...sugar! We then went to a fab club called Luge. We got there too early but stuck it out till 2. Tuesday 21st Feb- as expected i was very tired this morn, and school was a bit difficult! I managed to fall down a pot hole... had to have it looked at by the local nurse at the surgery in the favela. Wednesday 22nd Feb- ended up singing the 'Lonely' song so many times today- the representation of Western music is so bad over here!! Thursday 23rd Feb- Did some jigsaws with the children today, they have no idea of how to construct a jigsaw properly- very frustrating that they lack some basic skills. Went to a Mad's house for her birthday BBQ in the evening. Her Brazilian brother played the guitar and sang some of his own compostions- he had a fab voice! Friday 24th Feb- The teacher at work could not control the class today... but it is a little frustrating as there is little i can do as they will not understand me telling them off! They all looked so cute though as they were all dressed up in their Carnival costumes. Whilst waiting for the bus home, spoke to a random old lady who told us she had 100 grandchildren! In the afternoon, i finally bought a new camera... whatch this space for lots more photos!In the evening, Sun and I ventured to Lagoa to go to Cafe do Sul nightclub, it was shut so we went to Mexichana bar then wandered round the main street as it was buzzing with people all starting to celebrate Carnival. Spoke to an Irish guy, and Ozzie girl, and randomly saw the guy who had just sold me my camera!
