- Up lateish, headed out around 10am after booking Luge and Cable Car. The Luge is a bit "scammy" as they now (in the morning) showed as being "sold out" of the normal options (which are 3 4 rides), but ironically the 5-ride option with photo was available! So, I booked for 5 rides each (Ethan was not upset by this :))
- Got some breakfast on the way, got some fruit from the markets, and then tried some other bread options from the Bread Common bread shop (Bead Talk, I think).
- We made our way to the Cable car, which for the price was not as good as expected ($117 for 4 people) as it's not air-conditioned (V's the Monorail that costs $12 for 4 people and is Airconditioned). Also, they covered part of the view with a Hello Kitty decal! Also got messes around a bit as booked online from official site and followed signs to top of the building if had pre-purchased, but turns out this does not apply to the official site and need to go to the bottom and convert the online ticket to a physical ticket. Nonetheless, it made for an interesting (and hot) option to get to the island. Out passes also allowed us to use the cable car on the island and to go to Faber Peak (which Ethan and I did later, but Mum and Dad didn't bother, given how hot it was!).
- On the island, we arrived around 45 min before our Luge booking, so we went to Starbucks (my first time); it was ok but nothing special. Then headed to the Luge, walking past the Sensory Escape structures again.
- The Luge was busy, took us 2.5 hours for the 5 runs down (we concerning as the first ride took 1 hour! But if got a bit "quieter", was probably exacerbated by a school group also going). We went from exceedingly hot (when there was no breeze when queuing up & on the chair lift to the top, to very pleasant when a breeze came through.
- The Luge ride was good, not overly long (700m), but 4 tracks to choose from, and could for the most part go as fast as wanted (got to 30 kmph, which feels fast when only a few cm from the ground). Ethan loved it! There was quite a bit of overt queue jumping, which Ethan/we found hilarious (it made little difference much of the time as released in large blocks).
- Our pass included free photos, although only my helmet (which photos were linked to) worked. But got a good picture of Ethan on that (I was just in shot, but they placed their logo over my face on the digital copy!).
- Had some lunch (in very welcome Airconditioning) at Marybrown. Ethan got a burger, I tried something else (Nasi Lemak MB) that looked interesting. Ended up being rice with some crumbed chicken and papadums (which was all fine), but curiously paired with peanuts with very small entire dried fish (head and all) mixed in & a sauce that while I asked for mild, was very hot (Can't imagine how hot it would be if I asked for the spicy version!).
- Ethan and I took the Sentosa Cable car across some of Sentosa and back just to take a look given we had a pass (mum and dad had already done this when we were doing the Luge).
- The took the hot cable car's back to the mainland (with Ethan and I going to the end of the line and back for the sake of it as we had paid for it).
- Caught the train back to Chinatown, Ethan and I walked back to the accommodation, while Nanny and Grandad looked at some shops.
- We facetimed the girls for a while. Then played some rage & tidied up the apartment.
- Then off to find some dinner, went a different direction, and ended up coming across a large tower swing and "catapult" Ethan was initially interested in the swing but ended up wanting (voluntarily) to do the catapult - so we did it! And got shot 70m into the air! Is a thrilling but also very smooth ride. We both enjoyed it.
- Then off to find food. Walked around the precinct with lots of dinning options, but nothing very suitable ("fancy"/noisy/disco type of places). Went back to the other side of the river (that we came from) randomly went down an escalator and found DonDon Donki, a Japanese Supermarket come dinning space. Could purchase anything from the shop (which included warm food options) and then sit in their reasonably large dinning dining area and heat food up. For 9:30pm on a Wednesday night, the place was very busy and had a great "life" about it (only slightly taken away from by the music which was a "DonDon Donki" song which seemed to just repeat their name over an over again). But I'm glad we found it, It has good, interesting food options at a good price. We got some ice cream for dessert, then walked back (Getting some Sprite on the way to mix with Guinness when we got back).
- We are packed up and basically ready to go. Mum and Dad are leaving the accommodation at 4 a.m. (flying out to Perth at 7:15 a.m.). We will be leaving at 9:00 a.m., flying out at 12:30 p.m. to Bangkok - 2hr 20 min (then transferring down to Pattaya). Thailand is 1 hour behind, so we will arrive at the accommodation around 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. local time (4:30 - 5:00 p.m. Perth time).
