- Up at 7 am, got ready for the day then headed out into to city looking for breakfast & activities.
- Jumped on a train (can just use aby credit card or Apple Pay to access). Got some options from a type of bakery in the subway station (pizza & sausage bun). Sat down by the marina and had these with a view of Marina Ban Sands and the museum.
- Walked over to the museum, finding interesting spots on the way including a large whirlpool water feature.
- At the Science and Technology Museum, we went into the Future World exhibit. Unfortunately, half of it was closed for upgrades (re-opening the day after we leave); positively for some reason, on Fridays, Children are free. What was open was interesting and interactive including projected room, and a place can colour a plane or bird and have scanned and projected onto a large wall to fly around with the option to control it.
- Made our way over to the Singapore Flyer (large observation wheel). Ticketing for this was confusing, but once sorted went through a history of Singapore display (lots of projection displays and info). Boarded the flyer and able to take in views of the city & surrounds. Great view, commentary was a dated (around 5 years out of date).
- Found a subway station after this and went to Bugis street markets. Found a food court inside and had some lunch.
- Heading out of the market, we needed some water and found a Chinese store selling water, but also a plethora of very cheap products (like 3 packs of Oreos for $1). We brought a stack of random things we found (A full bag of stuff came to $15 AUD) - but the catch was that we could only use cash - so we had to abandon it and then find an ATM and return, which we did. We also got some cherries from an adjacent fruit shop ($14 AUD per kg).
- We then planned to go to Sentosa so got back on the subway and to the Harbour, then walked to the Cable Car, however on getting to the station turns out it would cost around $100 to catch for 4 of us (although pricing was confusing, as it is for a lot of things)! Given late in the day, it made no sense & trying to get into other options was challenging (the Sentosa website on the phone is almost useless), so we abandoned that idea and went back to the accommodation (have now found that the monorail option would have only costed $14 for all of us - but this detail was only possible to source using desktop version of the website!).
- Rested in the accommodation for a while, had planned on going to the foreshore water and light show, but decided to stay close, got Subway for dinner and then back to the accommodation to try our "goodies" from earlier in the day and play Rage.
- We were able to "enjoy" a nearby event in the park playing loud music, but interestingly, with no one in attendance….
- The "goodies" left a lot to be desired, but they were interesting—like banana chocolate and cappuccino chocolate, which left a greasy coating in the mouth. Other options weren't so bad. Had a lot of fun playing range and mucking around.
- Great day, lot of exploring, have largely figured out the train subway system and planning on going to Sentosa tomorrow (probably walk/travelator across from the main land).
