First day at work today!! eeek!! And the rain has stopped yea!!
I arrived and was immediately whisked off to have my photo taken and get my building pass, and then it was up to the 20th floor to meet the other 63 team members of the Queensland Department for Tourism, Events & Small Business Office of the Commonwealth Games! (i can remember the names of about 3 of them!!)
I then was shown to my desk & met me manager Lisa & team member Rob. We went for coffee & a get to know each other chat. Together we are the Evaluation and Monitoring Team within the Games Benefits (or Legacy) Directorate.
I was then given a number to call to get my password for my IT account and I was good to go. As I logged in I already had emails in my inbox regarding the mandatory elearning courses I had been enrolled in so doing them was the first task, the second was to read lots and lots of documents around the games, the legacy programmes and how the benefits from each would be measured and evaluated. The day ended with a meeting with the finance team about how much it was all costing as they are coming up to the end of the current financial year & start of the next one
