Agggh I booked my flight for New York on the 19th February I am so friggen excited!!!
I also have a mobile now both on the ship and when I am in America so if you get a random text its most likely from me, how I have missed texting, simple things. The one thing I miss is bread and butter. The bread on board is not the same as back home and they have stupid whipped butter on the ship. So Mama Smith make sure there is plenty of salted butter and tiger bread in the cupboards when I get home.
Well I have not written on here for a while, the festive season started in mid November. It took 4 hours and a dedicated team to make the boat look like there was a Christmas explosion. Definitly little Mickey elfs or slaves however you want to look at it. Again on the 2nd February they were ruthless everything was taken away, it looked boring even though the ship is beautiful. It was fun to see the ship decorated and all the Characters had there Christmas outfits on. I am still not a fan of the Mouse, he had a stupid Christmas jumper on. I probably should not write that he is always watching!hehe
All the guest services host had to wear a scarve so that was great in the Bahamas:) The festive season was fun we all done seacret santa and had a party so we could exchange gifts. I got a bottle of wine and a stitch teddy, so I was happy. The only downside was Christmas was on a sea day, the busiest day. So I had to have Chrimbo lunch on my own, however the day went quickly. I have to admit I was homesick and wished I could come home just for a couple of days - Christmas day and New Years eve! Christmas eve was fun as I just had a couple of drinks or four, I was celebrating Laurens birthday so it was allowed. I did get to spend Christmas eve on Castaway Cay so not sooo bad. I love working on the Island, walking to work and the sun is shining.
New Year party was organised by Guest services so I helped to organise the event, the party was fun. So much drama though but that is just a typical new year. Someone made me responisble for the free champagne, do they not know me yet! We were meant to be working on one glass per person on a ticket system, however it was new years. I made sure me and the other crew members did not go thirsty! I think everyone had fun that night, even though It was a lil messy at times.
One of my favourite nights so far was 'College night' we were playing American drinking games, so much fun. We are playing flip cup on me and Chelles birthday. Not forgetting ring of fire, I cannot remember what they call it.
Well enough of my night time shenanigans as Mama Smith will tell me off!hehe
I was going to apply for a officers position but decided not to as it would mean staying longer. So I will wait till next contract and hopefully there will be other opportunities, if I return. At the moment I am doing ' Make a Wish' which I am honoured to do. I look after all the make a wish families while they are onboard and create some magic to make there trip special. I get to meet them and they are all so lovely. It is sad as you know that they will not live long but they are so happy to be on the ship. I have not cried yet but I am sure its only a matter of time.
I went to one of the guests restaurants the other night which was so tasty, its called Palo. It was so refreshing just to eat in a proper restaurant and have an excuse to get dressed up for the night. The only downside is were not allowed to drink alchol in guest areas, so I missed my usual glass of wine with my dinner.
Well I calculated it and only have 38 days left on the boat, its gone so quickly, crazy times. I have other stories but forgotton them just now. I am just sitting outside in Nassau, sun is shining and I have a Corona in my hand. Life is difficult working on the ship! hehe I hope its not too cold back home. xxx
