I have not got sea sick yet! Touch wood! Well it has been five days now since I have been at sea, feels like weeks. Not in a bad way just so much to learn.I have just got worked where everything is on the crew floors so my next challenge is to know the layout of the guest areas. It is very confusing.
I have not liked the way you get the rota, they call it schedule. You get it the night before and only know what you are working the next day. Not that you need to plan anything as your working. It Is also different each day, so you could be working 3 hours, off for 2, working 5 off for 4 and then on for 3. Very strange its rare you would get an 8 hour shift. I work in total 10 hours, seven days a week. I have to stop laughing when a guest says 'must be like you are on holiday, working on the ship'.It has been exciting finding out how everything works, just like a floating hotel.I am learning Fidelio which I have wanted to do, it kicks hotel exec ass! Only PCH ladies will understandJ I felt relieved when we ha d a meeting, as similar problems were addressed like at Park Central.
I still love when I am walking in the corridor and you see Mickey Mouse or one of the princesses. I found out that I get to do the tours for free since I am on guest services and have to sell the product.I just have to fit it in with the schedule. I am still training for another week before I can earn my ears.
I have found the crew bar, big mistake.Although it's a dollar for bottle of corona, cannot complain!
