Absolutely dead to the world.
Poor Claire threw up all morning and I was fine but once I had woken up around 12.30 i got worse and worse. We laid in bed all day I couldn't move I thought I would vomit and tried but couldnt.
We literally did nothing because we were in that much pain. About 4.30 we had to go and book our ferry tickets for the next morning. It took us half an hour to get there (max 5 minutes on a normal day) and we had to have a stop half way.
We got home and watched movies in bed and then slept til 6.30. When we woke up we finally felt better (note better not good).
We still had our quad so we drove to Harmony which had been recommended to us for dinner. It was Mexican and perfect for us! We filled up so quickly though. I thought we were getting nachos but we ordered tacos haha losing the plot.
The owner came over to our table and was just chatting away she was really cool. She stays in Ios may-sept and then goes home to Australia where she does something in finance. She was so relaxed and happy I think she has got it worked out to a t, it's an awesome restaurant/bar and everyone working there just seems so happy. There was some live acoustic music and when the chorus would come he would get the kitchen staff to all sing haha it was too funny.
We felt pretty sick after that so we drove back to town dropped our quad back and walked home. We sat on the terrace until 10.20 and quickly went up to our room so we didn't have to do welcome shots haha.
Attempted to watch the opening ceremony but the only channel showing anything close was showing people commentating on people watching the ceremony which was most frustrating!
Ios is actually quite a ideallic little town, the streets are gorgeous and there are a few cute little shops and restaurants. It's a shame that most people (including me for one day) would be too hungover over to venture out of the hotel to see it. I met people who didnt leave the hotel pool during the day and just went out at night which is such a shame because the beaches out of town were stunning.
My favourite thing about Greek islands: the tiny little white churches dotted along the landscape. They are so gorgeous! I have taken about 100 photos of different ones.
