A 3 hour drive brought us to the small party town of Airlie Beach. On the main street there is plenty of pubs and clubs full of backpackers and just a short walk from there is the lagoon, which is very similar to the one in Cairns. A short drive in the good old campervan brought us to the capital of north Queensland, Townsville. Lee has found driving the campervan very easy and a relaxing way to see Australia.
