THURSDAY 30TH NOVEMBER DAY 10
Today was brilliant mostly. This morning we had to meet at 0900 for diving again, this time we were swimming far out and diving to 2m. You have to equalise (pop) your ears every few feet down otherwise the pressure really hurts. It took me ages to do it, everybody else was alright but then i got down, then when had to go back down couldnt do it, one ear wouldnt pop so had to keep going back up and trying for about 40 mins till it finished so didnt get to see anything, wasnt good. Paul liked it though and was fine. We finished at 1400 as we are doing our final dive on sat am instead of fri. Me, Paul,James and Abbi went and hired 2 quads to go round the island. It was so good to be out, they were only tenner each. It was the boys heaven, most roads are not roads just very very very very (getting the idea?!) uneven dirt tracks that are very steep. It was quite scary and nearly went over the side of the road with a big drop. Went to a clifftop lovely new spa hotel and restaurant, it was unbelivably nice, brilliant view, we had lunch there. Walked down untold amounts of steps to a decking area at the bottom which was a waste of energy. There was also a monkey sanctuary, i tried to take a photo of him in the cage and very suddenly he put his quite long arm out of the cage through a small hole and tried to get the camera, got quite a shock as he was very close. (obviously a bit camera shy) It started to rain, bloody typical. We went to another view area that was very nice and then to a part where we had to walk quite far down and there was huge boulders in the sea with makeshift bridges between them, it was very cool and again had wonderful views, it felt like an adventure playground. We then went through some huge dirty puddles and got soacked, had it for about 4 hours. It was due back so the boys dropped us back and they were gonna walk back after taking them back. Well they didnt come back for two hours and i was quite worried that something had happened, well in they walk and it had! Paul had been riding in a carpark near the pier when he tried to turn before getting near the edge and the bike skidded towards the edge and was gonna go in so he dived off, was about metre high in shallow water. The bike then followed him and landed upside down just about submerged. Paul was completley fine but also lost his gucci sunnies. Luckily there was a fisherman who winched the bike out after only 3 mins. It however wouldnt start and they towed it to the shop to be told that he would have to pay 250,000 bart (about 3500 pound), the bloke then phoned the owner who said 100,000 (1425 pound) by tomorrow afternoon. So that is where we are at now, dont know how to get the money out and none of you are in to talk to. It is not good, cant believe it, oh and by the way i have been quite calm about the situation. They have james'passport and aparantly you have to do as you are told on this island so no getting out of it. We were having such a good time to. We have also got our dive exam tomorrow and have got to dive to 18 ft and i cant pop my ears, jolly holidays with mary'', not!!!
Hopefully will speak to somebody that is gonna help us tonight like mam or dad so hurry and be in.
